Team India have been humbled after a historic win in Perth. Australia, who were desperate to reply, continued their pink ball dominance at home, scripting a magnificent 10-wicket win after they were set a target of just 19 runs. While Travis Head was awarded Player of the Match for his blazing century, it was the Aussie pacers who commanded confidence and put the Indian batters in a shell. Mitchell Starc got his maiden fifer against India, while Pat Cummins rattled blows in the second innings. India’s two pillars, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, continued their horrible forms, unfortunately.
India managed to bat just 81 overs in the entire game. This was awful considering that it took 87.3 overs for Australia to get bundled out in their first innings. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne showed two contrasting ways to make runs on this wicket. Meanwhile, the Head vs Siraj banter was one of the highlights. As we settle the dust on the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test, let us look at all the major records broken during this game.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the only two Indian captains to lose a match by 10 wickets in all formats.
