Michael B. Jordan was recently asked whether spending time with his nieces and nephews makes him want to have children of his own. He answered that he enjoys fulfilling his uncle’s duties. However, he’s just as happy to hand the kids back to their parents afterward. Jordan jokingly added that it’s an effective form of birth control. However, he reaffirmed his love for his nieces and nephews. The actor added that he appreciates having them with him on the red carpet for an age-appropriate movie, as they don’t often get to be part of such moments.

Michael B. Jordan on whether he wants kids of his own

Michael B. Jordan brought his nephew and nieces on the red carpet of his upcoming movie, Swapped. He was asked what the highlights of being an uncle are and if being around those kids inspires him to have his own. He jokingly said, “No, they’re probably the strongest form of birth control you can get is the niece and the nephew. It’s like, ‘Alright, great, Jamilla, you can have them back.”

However, Jordan described the feeling of having his nephew and niece on the red carpet as “awesome.” This is because he knows that during such events, they are either asleep or not age-appropriate to come and support him. Therefore, he feels nice that they finally got to attend the event with this movie and get a glimpse of his work. He added, “It feels good, it feels great.”

In an earlier conversation at My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, Jordan expressed his desire to have kids one day. He said, “I want children. Yeah, I want kids one day, but I figure I gotta start off with, like, plants and dogs. If I can take care of a plant, I should be able to get a dog. If the dog is cool, then I have a shot.”

In Swapped, Michael lends his voice to Ollie, a woodland mammal, whose body is swapped with that of a bird named Ivy. They are perceived as the enemies of the valley and set out on an exciting adventure while developing a special bond.
