‘Give Lot of Money to Veterans’: John Daly Drops Surprise Revelation Amid Promoting $23.99 Vodka Drink

9 hours ago 3

John Daly’s name is synonymous with golf, bold fashion, and fun persona. So, it’s only right that he’s associated with Good Boy Vodka. He has a drink named after him, the “John Daly” cocktail—a tongue-in-cheek alcoholic twist on the Arnold Palmer drink combining lemonade, iced tea, and vodka. But hey, we all know Daly is not only about the good time! He likes to give back too. On his own (he has a Heart of a Lion Foundation,) and with his collaborations.

John Daly has doubled down his philanthropic mission

Have you ever noticed the brand’s logo? Ever wondered why there’s a silhouette of a dog on it? It’s more than just a cute graphic; it’s actually central to the brand’s mission. Good Boy Vodka isn’t your typical alcohol brand. Co-founded by Alex Pratt, it’s all about giving back—to U.S. veterans and to our furry friends. Why dogs? It was a no-brainer. Pratt owned a German shepherd himself for years. Daly recently gave fans a glimpse into the mission behind the brand.

In the video, Daly shared, “Good perspective, my friend. That’s wheel-by-bye. We give a lot of money to veteran dogs with this stuff. Good boy, John Daly. Just a chance in life to help people. That’s what we do. Good.” To add more context, Daly captioned the post with, “Did you know my @goodboyvodka cocktail gives back to veterans and dogs?” So, how does a vodka brand help out veterans and dogs? It’s simple.

Good Boy Vodka, priced at $23.99 partners with organizations like the Warrior Dog Foundation, which helps retired military dogs find loving homes or provides a safe retreat for those that can’t. They also support Pets for Vets, which pairs rescue animals with veterans, and Dogs 2 Dog Tags. And that’s not all, they’ve set up their own Good Boy Foundation to support local charities across the U.S.

The team behind it all? People who know the value of giving back. Founder Alex Pratt and many others on the team have military ties, making this mission personal. As Pratt puts it, “Instead of Good Boy Vodka being just a new, exciting brand, we give back to independent communities.” And they don’t just talk the talk; they actually do.

Good Boy Vodka is out there hosting charity events, and donating to pet shelters and veteran organizations, they’re making an impact wherever they can. Whether it’s supporting the Marine Corps anniversary or partnering with Valor Service Dogs, this brand is all about giving back in ways that go beyond the bottle.

It’s rare to see a vodka brand that actually has a mission like this, and Daly’s involvement only adds to the charm. Even with his Heart of a Lion foundation, the 2x major champion offers mental, physical, and wellness support to veterans, first responders, and children. But as much as Daly is known for his good deeds, he’s also been open about his drinking habits.

John Daly has had hiccups, but he hasn’t slowed down

Daly’s drinking habits date back to the early days of his professional career. Remember the 1997 Players Championship? That’s when Daly smashed up his hotel room and withdrew from the tournament. In interviews over the years, Daly hasn’t shied away from discussing the toll his vices have taken on his life.

He’s admitted to losing a staggering $50 to $60 million to gambling. And the consequences didn’t stop there. He was once suspended from the PGA Tour from late 1993 into early 1994, due to behavior which included walking off the course mid-round during the 1993 late-season Kapalua International. His drinking might have also contributed to serious health issues, including kidney stones and bladder cancer.

But if you think that’s slowed him down, well, think again. Daly joined Tucker Carlson for an interview and dropped a jaw-dropping revelation: he once drank 40 cans of Good Boy Vodka in a single day. Yes, you read that right—40. Carlson, understandably skeptical, asked Daly to confirm, and he did. Daly even casually added that he recently drank three cans of the vodka in one sitting.

When Carlson asked the obvious question—how on earth does Daly recover after consuming that much alcohol—his response was as classic Daly as it gets: “Start drinking again. Do you fall off a horse, you’re gonna get back on it.” And when it came to whether recovering is getting tougher with age, Daly admitted, “It’s not getting easier, but right now I’m still okay.”

It’s the kind of blunt, unapologetic honesty that fans have come to expect from Daly. Love him or hate him, he’s always true to himself—even if that truth is as wild as it sounds.
