‘Fired’ by Conor McGregor, Mike Perry Gets a Huge Lifeline as BKFC President Comes Clean

1 day ago 2

Mike Perry‘s rise in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has been nothing short of extraordinary. Known for his brash personality, wild fighting style, and unrelenting attitude, Perry quickly became one of the most captivating figures in combat sports, first making a name for himself in the UFC. After leaving the world’s premier MMA promotion, Perry leaped into BKFC, a move that turned out to be a perfect fit for his fearless approach to fighting, as his aggressive style was tailor-made for the no-glove, no-holds-barred environment of bare-knuckle boxing.

Despite his success, Perry is not happy with BKFC, expressing dissatisfaction over certain aspects of his career in the promotion, especially since Conor McGregor threatened to fire him after he lost to Jake Paul. The comments ‘Platinum’ made raised some eyebrows, as he had been instrumental in BKFC’s rise to prominence. Nonetheless, Perry remains the face of the organization, and his continued involvement in the sport will undoubtedly keep him in the spotlight for years to come. BKFC President David Feldman rates the fighter very highly and promised the fans that he will be coming back in 2025.

MMA Fighting shared the clip on their Instagram page where David Feldman shared the details of Perry’s upcoming fight. In the video, Feldman said, ” It looks like March for Mike. He’s definitely coming back we talked about it a little bit at the fight. I know that he is Mike likes to talk and say, ‘You are not giving me fights, not doing this or that.’ But we have been talking with his management team.”

Despite what McGregor posted about Perry being fired, Feldman wrote, “He’s coming back. But Mike certainly is with the BKFC. He got fired for what a couple of minutes there. But he didn’t really get fired. But he’s certainly with BKFC and he helped really turn the corner with us in certain ways and you know we are all about Mike Perry.”

Mike Perry’s recent time in the spotlight has been marred by drama, including the aforementioned issues with ‘The Notorious’. However, despite the turmoil, Perry remained confident at a recent BKFC Hollywood event. While Robbie Lawler was enjoying the fights from ringside, Perry boldly called him out, once against showcasing that ‘Platinum’ rhythm that fans have come to dance to. However, a former UFC fighter feels that the fight might not happen.

Brendan Schaub has very little hope for the Robbie Lawler-Mike Perry fight

Mike Perry decided to take matchmaking into his own hands, setting his sights on former UFC welterweight Robbie Lawler. Perry made the bold move by stepping into the ring, grabbing the microphone, and directly calling out the former UFC welterweight champion. Interestingly, it’s a matchup the UFC had considered putting together years ago, but it never came to fruition. Now, with Perry’s challenge, the long-awaited clash could finally become a reality under the BKFC banner.

The two were originally scheduled to face off at UFC 255, but an injury to Robbie Lawler forced the cancellation of the highly anticipated bout. And now, Brendan Schaub feels the fight might just not happen at the moment mainly because of Lawler’s mindset after retiring from MMA.

He said, “It’s very hard to get his (Robbie Lawler) blood boiling. His blood pressure did not go up at all. He is all ‘no’. But for Mike Perry, this is the issue of everyone outside UFC. They don’t have anyone, they had a hope some of these older UFC guys want to fight bare knuckle against Mike Perry who’s born to fighting BKFC.”

The thought of Perry vs. Lawler is thrilling, and Perry has made it clear he’s ready to return to BKFC as soon as possible. And the President of the BKFC has made it clear that multiple options are waiting for him, without ruling the Lawler matchup out. Could this fight become a reality in 2025? Fans are left wondering if ‘Platinum’ will finally square off against ‘Ruthless’ in a bare-knuckle battle. What do you think? Let us know in the comments down below.
