1 week ago 1

Charlie Woods continues to demonstrate that his natural skill for golf is deeply ingrained in his genes as the son of golf legend, Tiger Woods. Proving that he is following in his father’s footsteps, the fifteen-year-old is attempting to qualify for the U.S. Open.

Tiger Woods himself, has won three U.S. Open tournaments: 2000, 2002 and 2008. And, if Charlie qualifies, it will unquestionably be a family affair.

Although Charlie was unsuccessful at qualifying for the Cognizant Classic back in February, that is not detouring the teen from making a name for himself in the sport, with his father right alongside him for support and advice. A source told People Magazine in 2020 that, “Tiger loves spending time with Charlie on the golf course.”

If you are following Charlie’s career, then you know that, although he has yet to qualify for the U.S. Open, he has seen success in other pro arenas. That talented young athlete has competed alongside his father at the annual PNC Championships in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

If you are not familiar with the PNC Championships, it is a tournament for professional golfers team up with their children.

After the dynamic duo’s first father-son PNC Championship tournament in 2020, the 48-year-old told reporters, “Just the fact that we were able to have this experience together, Charlie and I, it’s memories for a lifetime.”

In addition to Charlie, Woods also shares 16-year-old daughter, Sam with ex-wife, Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren.

Sam does from time-to-time join her brother and father on the green; however, golf is not her passion. You can find Sam on the soccer pitch.

“She does her own thing, which is soccer,” Tiger Woods said in a previous interview with Nick Piasttowski of Golf.com. “She’s committed to that. As far as golf, no, she really doesn’t. She’ll hang out in the backyard with us every now and again to have fun, but nothing competitive or serious.”
