Anne Hathaway’s Flop Dinosaur Movie Becomes a Massive Digital Streaming Hit

Anne Hathaway’s new movie is soaring on digital and streaming charts despite being a box office disappointment. The End of Oak Street has debuted at the #1 spot on Fandango’s premium video-on-demand streaming service for the week of September 14 to September 20.

The movie received fairly positive reviews from critics following its theatrical release on August 14. Additionally, it grossed a worldwide total of $120.6 million against a budget of $80–92 million, failing to break even.

Despite its modest box-office performance, The End of Oak Street has found its audience on digital and streaming platforms. The movie has now topped several other major releases this year on Fandango’s streaming list.

The End of Oak Street isn’t the only title making waves on the digital charts this week

With The End of Oak Street at the top of Fandango’s streaming list, close behind are Moana and Backrooms as the top three titles. Other streaming hits in the site’s Top 10 include:

Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, The End of Oak Street follows the Platt family as their neighborhood is transported to an unknown place filled with dinosaurs. The family must stick together and navigate the dangerous landscape as they figure out how to get back home.

The movie stars Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery as the Platts. Other cast members include Jordan Alexa Davis, P. J. Byrne, Hudson Meek, Anne Gee Byrd, and Emily Kuroda.

The End of Oak Street currently holds an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes‘ Tomatometer and a 76% score on the Popcornmeter.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway is set to return to the big screen in the upcoming psychological erotic thriller Verity, also starring Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
