Zuleyka Silver says Audra needs someone to blame on The Young and the Restless

Zuleyka Silver recently revealed that Audra doesn’t back off from targeting people. This is because she isn’t brave enough to hold herself accountable for her bad deeds and looks for people whom she could shift her blame onto.

In a conversation with Soap Opera Digest, Silver explained, “She’s petty. But also, I think she wants someone to blame, because then she can dodge accountability. I don’t think a lot of people can sometimes deal with their heinous actions. So it’s easier to blame Claire for breaking up her and Nate than it is for her to sit down with herself and be honest with herself.”

Audra never leaves an opportunity to stir some trouble in Claire and Kyle’s lives, as she believes them to be an easier target. This is simply because she can’t confront the one person she really should, Victor. Silver reveals that Audra is smart enough to know that she can’t attack Victor and possibly couldn’t go against him face-to-face. So, she projects her anger onto others. “She’s just really angry that maybe she doesn’t have the relationship Claire has with Kyle. So she’s taking all her anger out on Claire. I think it’s more about that than it is about Claire, specifically,” she explains.

Further, she mentions that Audra’s motives aren’t just fueled by seeing Claire and Kyle happy, but that there’s more to her resentment than what meets the eye. Explaining the honest reasons why Audra targets the duo often, she said, “It’s also the bigger picture of, you know, she doesn’t come from money. She feels like her life was tougher. And then when she sees these people in Genoa City, I think she is resentful of everyone in that way. I think that’s what drives her.”
