Yakemchuk headlines Senators rookie-camp roster

Defencman Carter Yakemchuk will be among the names to watch at the Ottawa Senators‘ upcoming rookie camp.

The Calgary Hitmen product was among the 25 players named to the team’s rookie camp roster on Wednesday. He was selected seventh overall by Ottawa in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Other notable names include Stephen Halliday, Djibril Toure, Jorian Donovan and Lucas Ellinas.

Yakemchuk, 19, spent the last four seasons playing with the Hitmen in the WHL. Last season, he recorded 17 goals and 23 assists in 56 games.

The Senators’ rookie camp will start on Thursday and conclude on Sunday.

As part of the camp, the Senators will take on the Maple Leafs’ prospects on Saturday and the Jets’ prospects on Sunday. All games will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
