A special opportunity will allow some fans to see Wicked: For Good before its official release date. Through an early access event, select audiences will get the chance to experience the highly anticipated sequel ahead of schedule.

How to watch Wicked: For Good before its release date

Fans can watch Wicked: For Good before its November 21, 2025, release date through special advance screenings. Thanks to a partnership between Universal Pictures and Amazon, Prime members will have exclusive access to tickets for November 17 screenings, four days ahead of the official release. These screenings will be available only in select U.S. theaters, and tickets can be purchased through Fandango.

The sequel continues the story of Elphaba, played by Cynthia Erivo, and Glinda, played by Ariana Grande. They step into their destined roles in Oz. The first film, released in 2024, earned $757 million worldwide.

It also received an 88% “Certified Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, winning two. Given the original’s success, Universal has positioned the follow-up as a major event.

To secure early access, fans must have an active Prime membership. By visiting OzOnAmazon, members can sign up for notifications when tickets become available. The screenings are part of a larger promotional push by Amazon. This includes Wicked-themed Alexa features, a Twitch “Together for Good Stream-a-Thon,” and exclusive merchandise through the OzOnAmazon storefront.

Prime members can also stream or rent the first Wicked film on Prime Video to catch up before the sequel. Membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Discounts are available for students and qualifying government assistance recipients. Non-members may sign up for a free trial, which includes access to this promotion while it lasts.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked: For Good stars Erivo, Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. The film adapts the Broadway musical and Gregory Maguire’s novel. It concludes the cinematic retelling of the witches of Oz.
