Who Is Ben Shelton’s Girlfriend? Everything to Know About Trinity Rodman

Ben Shelton has been making headlines on the tennis court, but there’s been plenty of interest in his life away from it too. The American tennis star has been linked with Trinity Rodman, the USWNT star who has carved out a name for herself in soccer. While their relationship has caught fans’ attention, Rodman is a star in her own right. So, who is Trinity Rodman, and what should you know about Shelton’s rumored girlfriend?

Who is Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman?

Trinity Rodman is an American professional soccer player. She was born May 20, 2002, in Newport Beach, California. Her father is NBA legend Dennis Rodman, while Michelle Moyer raised her. She also has an older brother, Dennis Rodman Jr., known as DJ.

She started playing soccer when she was four years old. She later joined the SoCal Blues as a youth player. Her talent quickly took her toward professional soccer. Washington Spirit selected her second overall in 2021.

At eighteen, she became the youngest NWSL draft selection. She then won the league’s Rookie of the Year award. She also helped Washington Spirit win the NWSL Championship that season. Her rise continued with the United States national team.

Rodman became an Olympic champion with America at Paris 2024. She scored three goals during that Olympic tournament. Her speed and attacking ability made her especially dangerous.

Her family background has often closely followed her career. However, Rodman has worked hard building her own sporting identity. She has also spoken openly about her complicated relationship with Dennis. Despite that, she respects his competitive mentality and athletic mindset.

Rodman once explained the connection between their playing styles. “I see so many similarities in mine and my dad’s game.” She also praised her mother for shaping her personality. “She’s raised me, my brother, and my sister, to be the best people.”

What is Trinity Rodman’s profession?

Trinity Rodman is a professional soccer forward for Washington Spirit. She also represents the United States women’s national team. Her career has developed rapidly since entering the NWSL.

Rodman combines pace, acceleration, creativity, and aggressive attacking play. Those qualities helped her become an immediate professional standout. Her first season already produced major individual recognition.

She has since become an important American international player. Rodman has earned more than fifty senior appearances. She has also contributed goals and assists for the national team.

Her club career remains centered around Washington Spirit. In January 2026, she signed a new contract through 2028. The agreement reportedly made her the highest-paid NWSL player.

That deal reflected just how important Rodman became. She’s no longer simply a promising young soccer player. Rodman now sits among the biggest names in women’s soccer.

How did Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman meet?

The details of how Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman first connected only recently came to light, with Rodman revealing that she was the one who made the first move. She reached out to Shelton on social media with a short, casual message that, in her own words, was a little embarrassing.

“You’re sick, fire emoji,” Rodman recalled sending Shelton. She apparently didn’t expect much from it, but Shelton replied within 10 minutes.

Things moved quickly from there. The two met in person about a week later, with Shelton flying out to see Rodman and staying at her house for the weekend. Rodman even recalled a small moment from their first meeting that stuck with her. She had been pretending to break down boxes before Shelton arrived and eventually greeted him while holding a pair of scissors. Shelton ended up helping her finish the chore.

That simple gesture apparently left an impression on Rodman. “He proceeded to help me,” she recalled during the podcast. “That’s when I knew, keeper,” she added.

Their relationship became public in March 2025 when Shelton shared a photo of Rodman kissing him on the cheek. The post quickly caught the attention of fans from both tennis and soccer, while friends such as Coco Gauff and Frances Tiafoe also reacted to the relationship.

Since then, the two have continued to support each other despite their demanding schedules. Rodman has been spotted at Shelton’s tennis matches, while Shelton has kept up with her soccer career.

Their social media activity has also offered fans a glimpse into the relationship. In a recent Instagram post, Shelton wished Rodman a happy birthday with a simple “24, Happy birthday beautiful,” accompanied by a heart-eyes emoji. Rodman responded in the comments with three heart emojis, adding another small but telling moment between the two athletes.
