Emily Hampshire is set to star in the upcoming Vision Quest Disney+ series, and recently opened up about joining the MCU, and her potential upcoming scenes with James Spader’s Ultron.

What did Emily Hampshire say about Vision Quest?

Speaking to Etalk about her upcoming role, Hampshire — who plays E.D.I.T.H., an AI created by Tony Stark — joked that when she first got casted, she actually had no idea what the MCU even was. Now, though, she’s done her homework, and understands how big the franchise is.

“When I first got this job, which I couldn’t talk about for a year, which was very difficult, my lawyer had said to me, ‘Now, you’re in the MCU.’ And I had to look up what MCU meant,” Hampshire said with a sly smile. “But now I am fully immersed. I have watched all the movies. But I didn’t know much about the MCU before; now I know everything. I was shocked at how secret it is. Like, we had to give in our scripts at the end of the day. So, it is very secret. I know a lot of secret things that I can’t tell you.”

Hampshire went on to praise the work she got to do with both Paul Bettany and James Spader, the latter of whom is reprising his role as Ultron for the series. While Hampshire didn’t confirm she had any scenes with Spader, she did mention working with him several times.

“What was amazing was that it was with Paul Bettany and James Spader, who are the best people,” said Hampshire. “I’ve worked with some great people, and I was just in awe. Paul is just the greatest. I think we were in the womb together, and I kicked him and he laughed, and then we became friends like we’ve known each other all our lives.

“And James Spader is one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with.”

Alongside Hampshire, Vision Quest will star Paul Bettany, James Spader, Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, T’Nia Miller, Orla Brady, and Faran Tahir as the only announced cast as of now. The series is currently set to release sometime next year, as part of the MCU’s sixth phase.

Initial reports on Vision Quest were unclear if the series would adapt the actual comic book storyline from the Vision Quest comic series, or simply continue the ongoing story of Vision that’s been building in throughout the MCU. The last time fans saw Vision was in the closing episodes of the Disney+ series WandaVision, which saw the Vision being dismantled and reassembled in a new, white body, which disappeared shortly before the season’s finale.
