Urgent manhunt underway after woman, 25, dies in fall from block of flats

A manhunt has been launched after a woman plunged to her death from a block of flats in Southampton.

The incident happened at around 2.43pm on Thursday to Cuckmere Lane, near Redbridge Rail station.

Emergency services found the 25-year-old woman with ‘significant injuries’.

She was rushed to hospital, but died there the following day despite the efforts of doctors.

A murder investigation has since been launched, but no one has yet been arrested.

Hampshire Police said they are looking for a man who they believe was at the address when the fatal fall happened.

They were pursuing lines of enquiry and are conducting patrols in the area as their murder probe gets underway.

A spokesperson said: ‘Officers are pursuing lines of inquiry to identify a man within the property at the time of the incident.’

The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, the force added.
