The US president was accused of “gaslighting” the entire world after he said AI and the data centres that drive it “will be the greatest economic development engine in history”.
Trump himself is a keen user of AI, regularly posting bizarre slop videos and images on Truth Social.
Senior executives and staff at AI firms have called for greater regulation of the technology before it gets out of control.
But in a rambling post on Truth Social, Trump rejected those fears and said there were no need for new guardrails to tame the technology.
He said: “Concerning AI, when, in the History of Business, did anyone see the Leaders of an Industry call for Regulation that, if strongly implemented, will drive them into oblivion and bankruptcy?
“AI taking over the World, destroying Humanity, and all other things bad, is a HOAX, no different from RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA — UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE — IMPEACHMENT HOAX #1 — IMPEACHMENT HOAX #2 — and all of the other HOAXES and SCAMS that America was forced to endure through the Destructionists’ and Deviants’ foul play and illegal conduct.”
Trump said President Xi of China “will be doing absolutely nothing to stand in the way of AI, or its future” and so America should follow suit.
He added: “AI, and Data Centers, will be the Greatest Economic Development Engine in History — Bigger than Oil, Gold, Diamonds, or even the Internet.”
But his comments drew widespread criticism online, with the president being branded “unfit for office” for gambling with the future of the planet.
The President who is heavily invested in AI, and generates massive amounts of propaganda with AI slop, says AI is good, and all of the bad things about it are a hoax.
