Lovely Blends Magical Realism And Heartfelt Storytelling

Described as a 3D fantasy comedy-drama, Lovely offers a refreshing blend of magical realism and heartfelt storytelling. The trailer introduces Boney (played by Mathew Thomas), a young man dreaming of migrating to Canada in search of a better life. However, his journey takes an unexpected twist when he finds himself behind bars — where he encounters a talking fly. What unfolds is a magical friendship that appears to alter Boney's perspective on life and dreams, setting the stage for a fantastical yet emotionally grounded adventure.

The film boasts a vibrant ensemble cast including Unnimaya Prasad, Manoj K Jayan, Aswathy Ramachandran, Prashanth Murali, Baburaj, Joemon Jothir, Arun Pradeep, Sreejith Ravi, Jayashankar, Ashlin, and Arun. Their performances, glimpsed in the trailer, hint at a world rich with colourful characters and quirky humour.

The Film Boasts Of A Stellar Technical Team

Adding to the film's charm is its strong technical team. Vishnu Vijay has composed the music, promising a lively and emotional soundtrack, while Kiran Das handles editing, ensuring a crisp narrative flow. A significant highlight is director Aashiq Abu making his debut as a cinematographer with this project, bringing a fresh visual aesthetic to the fantasy-driven storyline. Interestingly, the principal photography for Lovely was completed even before Abu commenced shooting for his last directorial venture, Rifle Club (2024), for which he had served as the cinematographer as well.

With its unique premise, charming visuals, and a story that promises both laughter and warmth, Lovely looks set to offer audiences a delightful cinematic escape when it hits theatres this summer.
