Top Gear Star Jeremy Clarkson Reveals ‘Aggressive’ Cancer Diagnosis

In a surprising turn of events, Top Gear legend Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that he is currently fighting an “aggressive” kind of prostate cancer. The English TV personality shed light on his health condition during the last few episodes of Clarkson’s Farm Season 5, where he also talked about the subsequent treatment plans.

In the final moments of his Prime Video show, the 66-year-old confirmed his prostate cancer diagnosis to fellow docuseries mainstays, Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper.

“I’ve got cancer,” Jeremy Clarkson bluntly revealed to the duo. Shocked by the revelation, Cooper questioned in disbelief, “No, you haven’t. Where?” Clarkson replied in his trademark stoic way, stating, “Where it is is of no concern of anybody. I’ve known since May” (via Deadline).

The seasoned journalist further explained that he had “disappeared off the other week” in a bid to visit the doctor and “had a biopsy.” There, Clarkson learned that he had an “aggressive” form of cancer. However, much to the relief of his fans, he added that the doctors caught his ailment “really early.”

The Top Gear veteran continued, “I was praying we could get the harvest done, and then I could go and get some treatment, but it’s going to be slap bang in the middle.” He added, “I’m not daft, it’s going to be in about two weeks, maybe three. I’ll have to go and have an operation, and then, the operation is in and out in no time, but your body’s out of action for a little while.”

Providing more insight into the treatment process for the cancer, Jeremy Clarkson noted that he is aiming to get more “blood tests, and then we’ll know.” The scene then jumped to him in the hospital, where he quipped, “[We] started Season 5 with me in a hospital bed, and we are at the end of Season 5, and I’m back in a hospital bed.”

Revealing that “some of the treatment” had “gone awry,” Clarkson shared, “What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for Season 6, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone.”
