While it's rare for movie franchises to last as long as the MCU or Mission: Impossible, the horror genre isn't lacking in examples of movie franchises that didn't just last long, but also have many films in them. Whatever the quality of sequels, many horror franchises overstay their welcome long enough to even win fans back after some disappointing films.
