Luke Sparke’s new dinosaur movie, Primitive War, is wowing audiences in a way that almost no Jurassic film has. The movie debuted with an impressive 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes with over 500 reviews. This makes it the second-best in the genre after Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park, which holds a 91% audience score on RT. For years, the Jurassic franchise held a monopoly over the dinosaur genre. But now, Primitive War might finally be the exception, and it is doing so by going darker, meaner, and a lot more intense than the family-friendly Jurassic movies.
