The horror genre is rife with some of the most chilling and memorable endings in cinema history. The eerie, time-bending implications of the slow final zoom into the photo in The Shining, and Mike standing motionless in the corner at the end of The Blair Witch Project, remain burned into horror history. The horrors in the apartment block attic in [Rec] and "Kiri kiri kiri" in Audition. More recently, Kane Parsons' terrifying liminal horror blockbuster Backrooms also left audiences reeling with the disturbing implications of its final shots.
