History Channel is reviving Ice Road Truckers for a 12th season. The network has released the official trailer, previewing the extreme challenges drivers face as they deliver supplies across Northern Canada’s frozen wilderness.

Ice Road Truckers set to return to History Channel for Season 12 after eight years

After more than eight years, Ice Road Truckers is making its long-awaited return with a 12th season. History Channel confirmed that Season 12 will debut on October 1 at at 9.30 p.m. ET/PT. It continues to focus on high-risk deliveries across frozen lakes and remote trails in Northern Canada, where truckers provide lifelines of food and fuel to secluded communities.

This time, familiar faces Todd Dewey and Lisa Kelly, are confirmed to return. They will be joined by a group of rookies preparing to face the harshest conditions. Kelly first appeared in Season 3 and stayed until Season 5. She later returned in Season 7 and continued through Season 11. Dewey also joined in Season 7 and remained a regular until the end of the series.

The longline of Season 12 reads, “With a winter window shorter than ever and no time to waste, these drivers risk everything to haul in a lifeline of goods while chasing big paydays before the opportunity melts away under their chained tires.”

Season 12 is produced by Original Productions and Eagle Vision for History Channel and Corus Entertainment. Jeff Hasler, Brian Lovett, Meredith Prunkard, and Patrick Costello serve as executive producers for Original Productions.

Meanwhile, Kyle Irving, Lisa Meeches, and Rebecca Gibson represent Eagle Vision as EPs. In addition, Alex Hicks, Eli Lehrer and Mary E. Donahue serve as executive producers for History, while Rachel Nelson and Lynne Carter represent Corus.

Ice Road Truckers was first introduced in 2007 by Thom Beers and ran for 11 seasons until 2017, when it went on indefinite hiatus without an official cancellation. Over the years, the show has documented drivers tackling some of the most hazardous roads in North America, including Yellowknife, the Tuktoyatuk Winter Road, the Dalton Highway in Alaska, Deadhorse, and Round Lake.
