Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) is under serious pressure next week in Coronation Street, as DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is determined that he had something to do with Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) hit and run and intends to prove it.

Carl is just about neck deep in a mess of his own creation. His affair with sister in law Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) has resulted in his being extorted by Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) who caught them kissing.

On top of that, his induction of teenage tearaways Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) and Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) into his car theft racket resulted in them stealing a car and running over poor Tyrone.

To add to his problems, he now has a police officer on his trail, determined to bring him down.

In the aftermath of Tyrone’s horrific ordeal, Kit is forced to deliver the grim news that the car they believe is responsible has been found burned out.

He later crosses with Brody, who assures him of his and Dylan’s innocence and tells him that he was having a seizure when the hit and run took place.

Brody later tells Carl that he and Dylan ditched the car prior to them heading to the hospital, leading Carl to suggest that somebody must have taken the car and then hit Tyrone.

Suspicious Kit is like a dog with a bone, though, and maintains a close eye on Carl.

With Abi’s concerns that the car that hit Tyrone could’ve been one of Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer) ringing in his ears, Carl heads off to meet the boss of the car racket with an update on what’s happened.

This move proves to be an unwise one, as Kit spots their meeting and, upon its conclusion, confronts Carl about why he’s spending his time with a well-known criminal.

Has Kit managed to nail Carl for his part in the car theft that led to Tyrone’s condition? Or will the slippery mechanic manage to weasel his way out of yet another predicament?
