The 'Vintage' Colour Experts Think Will Take Over 2027 Weddings

This year, Juliet caps, drop-waist dresses, and even matcha green dominated wedding venues (which, by the way, are apparently becoming ever more unconventional).

And as we hurtle towards the end of 2026 with alarming speed, vendors have begun predicting what’s next in fiancée fashions.

Working with wedding specialist site The Knot, trend spotters asked wedding vendors to confirm whether the shifts they saw coming aligned with what was really selling. This “council” included planners, venue owners, and food designers.

As it turns out, four out of five of the professionals asked agreed that one colour is going to be big news at next year’s ceremonies: silver.

How will silver show up in 2027 weddings?

Yes, gold and silver have always been classic wedding colours. But experts have spotted a higher-than-usual level of interest in silver in particular: The Knot noticed a 133% year-on-year surge in searches via its site.

According to the experts, it’s already showing up in wedding accessories, stationery, flatware, and dinnerware that couples are choosing for their big day.

Micaela Erickson, the director of marketing at Brooklyn venue Vesper, said these silver accents “feel like a fun meshing of vintage charm and modern elegance”.

Sometimes, they’re used to give a quirky, and often antique-y, feel to the event, she added.

She has seen “vintage silver trays holding lighters, cigarettes, and other vices for guests to indulge in, eclectic mirrors with the couple’s monogram, and almost futuristic silver floral arrangements”.

It coincides with a “homey” trend

Alongside a sudden silver rush, all of the experts said there’s been increased interest in so-called “interior design weddings”.

These make venues look (and feel) more like an exceptionally well-decorated home than the setting for an official ceremony.

Lamps, menu tassels, and even coffee table guest books are designed to make the atmosphere less stuffy and more, well, fun and comfortable.

Combine this with old-school silver trays, and you’d be forgiven for mistaking a 2027 wedding’s decor for a relaxed and unapologetically anachronistic country home (except, of course, that it’s accidentally ended up bang on-trend).
