As per the reports, Jenny Han, the writer of the bestselling books that inspired The Summer I Turned Pretty, has confirmed that a feature film is on the cards. Though the details have not been revealed, she mentioned in a statement that Belly's journey is still incomplete. She was quoted saying, "There is another big milestone left in Belly's journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I'm so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fan," as reported by Variety.
