After a long wait of three entire seasons, Belly (played by Lola Tung) and Conrad (played by Chris Briney) have finally gotten together in the series finale of the show. Their on-screen love and union was shown by a steamy sequence that the fans have been patiently awaiting. Lola Tung has talked about her experience with filming that sequence. The finale, which was set in Paris, finally gave Team Conrad what they were hoping for. Belly and Conrad both spent the entire day exploring the city before their emotions took over and gave a passionate sequence that started from the taxi, followed into the hallway, and eventually reached Belly's bedroom.

Lola and Chris were not there to witness the scene.

During the Th tre Marigny premiere in Paris, the audience was literally shouting during the scene. But the two main leads were not there to see it. Instead, they had slipped out of the theater and gone to a bar instead. What was even more nervousness-inducing for Lola Tung was the fact that her mother had stayed back to see the scene. "My mom's always been really supportive and understands that it's all part of the job and art," Tung said. "It was really, really nice that she was there."

For the actress, her supportive family made the entire ordeal much easier, though she shared that she did not want to see the scene with her mother beside her.

She emphasized the fact that she felt grateful that her mother did not judge her for portraying an intimate moment and appreciated her for her craft.

Why Jenny Han chose to add the scene in the series

What is to be noted is that the original book trilogy never had this scene in it. Han explained that the choice to add this scene in the series was to showcase a mature, consensual, and safe moment between Conrad and Belly. Tung seemed to agree with the decision, stating that it was "important to show enthusiastic and normal experiences for young women."

The creators of the shoe ensured the comfort and safety of both the main leads at every point. They brought in an intimacy coordinator and made sure that the communication was open at every point. Both the actors appreciated the team's effort to handle the scene with care and sensitivity.

The finale was in line with Han's trilogy of books, with Conrad and Belly choosing each other after years of constant turbulence, emotional instability, and chaos. But this did not happen without the drama, the chaos, and the romantic and unexpected declarations of love that the audience has come to love.
