2026 has been a banner year for HBO Max subscribers, who have been treated to some of the biggest shows in platform history so far this year. Not only has HBO delivered two Game of Thrones spin-off shows with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon, but HBO also brought back Noah Wyle to lead the second season of The Pitt in January. The show was viewed as a huge gamble for HBO before its first season in 2025, but it continues to be one of the biggest medical dramas ever made, drawing millions of viewers week after week. HBO was so confident that The Pitt Season 2 was going to be a success that the show was renewed for Season 3 before a single episode ever hit the air, freeing up the team to begin work and allowing the show to return on a similar timeline.
