There have been plenty of great pirate projects this year to satisfy fans of the swashbuckling genre. On February 25, Prime Video released its new original epic set on the high seas, The Bluff, starring Karl Urban from The Boys and Priyanka Chopra Jonas from Citadel. After being hailed as Prime Video’s perfect Pirates of the Caribbean replacement, and also drawing some comparisons to Black Sails, The Bluff spent weeks at the top of streaming charts. The rise of the Pirates of the Caribbean films in the 2000s has certainly helped contribute to the pirate genre as a whole becoming much more popular, and now fans are always on the lookout for the next great swashbuckling project. There is a new release coming in the next few weeks that already has fans around the world talking, though.
