‘The Naked Gun’ Falls Painfully Short of Its Only Global Box Office Milestone After Digital Debut

After a month in theaters, Paramount's The Naked Gun reboot was released on PVOD platforms a few days ago. The movie is still playing in a rather strong 1,700-plus domestic theaters, but it will likely lose a significant chunk later this week. While The Naked Gunwas able to pass the $50 million milestone at the domestic box office before it debuted on home video, it will probably fall painfully short of its first and only global box office milestone. This would make it the second major Paramount release to do so this year, after Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.
