During Season 1 of The Lowdown,Ethan Hawke’s intrepid reporter and “truthstorian,” Lee Raybon, spends most of his time getting beaten up, laughed at, or evading gunfire while digging into the death of wealthy local Dale Washberg (TimBlakeNelson). So when Season 2 opens with Lee named Citizen Journalist of the Year at an intimate awards ceremony for that very story, it kind of feels like he’s finally won. Naturally, he makes a mess of it in the best way he knows how.
