EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (September 23) episode that is now available to view on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air on BBC One on at 7:30pm.

Zoe Slater’s (Michelle Ryan) return has delivered bombshell after bombshell. When she re-emerged, broken and dishevelled, staying with cousin Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) as Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) worked tirelessly to reunite her with his wife and her mum, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), a seemingly endless set of twists and reveals was set in motion.

Before she even set foot on the square again, she tried to extract cash from Alfie, claiming that Spanish loan sharks were after her, after first stealing Stacey’s credit card.

She then bolted to Barcelona, with Alfie heading on a wild goose chase to find her. It took younger brother, Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to finally bring her back to Walford.

Upon her return home, Zoe and Kat’s reunion was cut short when Zoe was accidentally shot in a tussle between Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

Viewers became aware in a series of flashbacks that, away from the square, back in 2006, Zoe gave birth to twins. Tragically, the female twin was stillborn, while Zoe gave the male twin up for adoption immediately after birth.

Next came her admittance to Stacey that she’d sought the help of dodgy investigator, Greg Dolan (Dean Williamson) and she was unsure whether or not she’d killed him.

Stacey sought to find out, dragging Zoe on a stake out. They got their answer when Greg emerged from his flat, though seeing the Slater girls did little but enrage him and leave him with a thirst for revenge.

Taking them hostage, Greg demanded cash, though a timely intervention by Tommy, Ravi and Jack resulted in the Slaters escaping relatively unscathed, though Zoe’s family learned of the tragedy surrounding the birth of her twins.

An aborted clash with a returning Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) left Zoe feeling prepared to relaunch her search for her son, but Alfie and Stacey pleaded with Kat to consider furnishing Zoe with the money she needed. Pointing out her propensity for lying and the trouble she caused, Kat listened to reason and told Zoe she couldn’t help her without honesty.

With Zoe on the outs with Kat and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) fuming following a questioning from Sharon over the status of her loan, sparks flew when the two collided in the Square.

Trading vicious barbs about each others families, Vicki’s fuse finally blew and she landed a wicked punch right across Zoe’s face. A full blown catfight erupted as the two tore strips off of one another, before Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) split them up, with Zack receiving a blow to the nose for his troubles.

When Sharon caught wind of the clash, she headed to the Vic, determined to see Zoe off for good. Infuriated by Zoe going back on their shared agreement to stay out of each others way, Sharon was visibly out for blood, and Vicki was more than happy to tag along for ringside seats.

Arriving at the Vic, battle lines were quickly drawn as Kat moved to stand beside Zoe, while Vicki flanked Sharon. As Sharon and Zoe went head to head, Zoe made some vicious stabs over Sharon adoptive dad, Den Watts (Leslie Grantham).

When Sharon questioned why Zoe was back, presuming that it was down to money, Zoe unexpectedly revealed all about her babies.

Rising from her seat and taunting Sharon, Zoe needled at her before finally delivering the killer blow, revealing with a sneer that the father of her twins is her ex-boyfriend and Sharon’s deceased ex-husband, Dennis Rickman!

As Zoe looked on smugly and Sharon visibly reeled, the doof doofs rolled in, bringing today instalment of EastEnders to a close.

We’re with you guys…what a twist!

As we agonisingly wait until tomorrows visit to Albert Square, we’re left wondering…how will Sharon react? What impact will this latest reveal have on Zoe’s relationship with the other Slaters? Is she even telling the truth?

Let’s meet back here tomorrow to discuss, yeah?
