The Bold and the Beautiful’s New RJ, Brayan Nicoletti, Is ‘Excited for What the Future Holds’

On Thursday, January 15, RJ Forrester returns to Bold and Beautiful, the role now recast with daytime newcomer Brayan Nicoletti. The young actor opened up about joining the soap, taking over the legacy character from previous portrayer Joshua Hoffman, and more in a new interview with TV Insider.

One of the Family

After catching the acting bug in high school, Nicoletti moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in show business. Landing the role of RJ threw the young performer into a whole new world. “My family is from Brazil — I’m first generation — so growing up, my relationship with soaps were always Spanish soaps,” he explained. But he had a good feeling from the moment he tried out for the role at the studio alongside Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) and Laneya Grace (Electra). “The audition went great,” Nicoletti enthused. “Thorsten really took me under his wing, and both of them were incredible.”

He's had a lot of drama in his young life!

RJ has not been seen on B&B since Hoffman’s last appearance in October 2024, and Nicoletti made sure to brush up on the Forrester heir’s history before making the character his own. He described the RJ who touches back down in Los Angeles as having “grown into this man who’s really trying to figure out what he values and where his priorities should be.”

Although the daytime newbie admitted that his first day was “nerve-wracking,” he soon found his footing, especially with the support of his television parents, Kaye and Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and, as well as TV grandfather John McCook (Eric). “I don’t know if you can ask for two better soap parents to have,” Nicoletti shared. “They’re incredibly generous with their time, but also so talented. Same with John. I first met him on set, and he immediately took me to his dressing room and sat me down, and was asking me questions about how I was enjoying the show and how I got to where I am, and about my family, and he gave me a lot of guidance and advice.”

RJ returns as B&B is establishing the next generation with characters like Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) and Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace). It’s a group that Nicoletti is thrilled to be a part of. “I think bringing in a younger set of performers and having that young cast on the show adds so many dynamics to it,” he declared. “I’m really excited for what the future holds this year, not only for myself, but just the show in general.”
