The 1990s were a very interesting decade for cinema. After the loud and gritty films of the 1980s, the 1990s saw a massive shift toward more independent and experimental ideas alongside blockbusters. Animation also saw a rise during this time: Disney was back on top with their Renaissance, which inspired many other studios to try their hand at 2D animated films, and CGI was being used in more productions.
