The Batman Part II continues to move along in exciting updates, with the latest coming from a big star in the highly anticipated sequel.

What is the latest The Batman: Part II update?

In a recent post on Instagram, Jeffrey Wright — who plays Commissioner Jim Gordon in the movie — shared a photograph of a zipper envelope that was locked shut. While innocent enough on its own, Wright’s caption, a bat emoji, revealed that the envelope contained none other than Matt Reeves’ script for the second film.

Wright’s confirmation that he got the script coincides with other actors beginning to receive theirs. Colin Farrell, who plays Oz Cobb/The Penguin in the franchise, also said he was preparing to read the script last week. Check out Wright’s post below:

According to a recent report, The Batman 2 — also known as The Batman Part II or The Batman Part 2 — will begin production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London, United Kingdom, on January 1, 2026.

Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman in the movie, while the website lists the returning cast as Farrell, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. It also says Barry Keoghan is “expected” to return as the Joker, though this has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. Pictures as of yet.
