The 8 Most Perfect Animated Movies of the 1980s, Ranked

The 1980s was an experimental decade for films, thanks in large part to studios being more willing to spend money on their projects. Animation was no exception, especially since Disney had been stuck in a rut ever since the death of Walt Disney in 1966. This allowed other studios to try their hand, while across the Atlantic, Japan was releasing some major works that would become global successes and help contribute to the popularity of anime.
