Most people who read fantasy don't really touch actual sci-fi, and most sci-fi readers roll their eyes at swords and prophecies. I get it, mixing the two sounds messy on paper, like nobody bothered deciding what rules the story actually follows. It's an easy genre to be skeptical of before you actually try it.
