TBS has finally announced the renewal of one of its long-running reality comedy shows, which is still currently airing its twelfth season. Ahead of the premier of the latest installment’s final two episodes on March 19 and March 20, Impractical Jokers was renewed for a Season 13,
What did TBS boss say about the Impractical Jokers renewal?
“Fifteen years into its run, Impractical Jokers is breaking records and delivering some of the best ratings in its history,” TBS executive Jason Sarlanis said in a statement. “Our fans absolutely love the humor and friendship of the Jokers, which keeps them coming back for more. We can’t wait to share even more laughs and unforgettable moments with them.”
At the moment, Impractical Jokers Season 12 is on track to become the show’s highest-rated installment ever, with a 292% increase from the previous season’s rating. It currently ranks as the #1 original series on cable this year in key adult demos. The unscripted comedy series stars comedians Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr” Murray, and Sal Vulcano, who staged hilarious hidden camera pranks on one another with the help of celebrity guests. Executive producers are Quinn, Murray, Vulcano, James Kilmoon, and Charlie DeBevoise. It hails from NorthSouth Productions.
“Three comedians and lifelong friends compete to embarrass each other amongst the general public with a series of hilarious and outrageous dares. When Brian ‘Q’ Quinn, James ‘Murr’ Murray, and Sal Vulcano challenge each other to say or do something, they have to do it… If they refuse, they lose! At the end of every episode, the episode’s loser must endure a punishment of epic proportions,” reads the official synopsis.
