The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni rages on, with a new report revealing that Taylor Swift will be deposed in the legal drama.

What do we know about Taylor Swift’s inclusion in the Justin Baldoni lawsuit?

According to a recent report from Variety from a court filing from Baldoni’s camp, Swift has agreed to sit for a deposition in the lawsuit between Lively and Baldoni. It’s unclear exactly what will occur, but Swift will likely be asked about discussions she’s had with Lively about the working conditions of the It Ends With Us set, as well as other information about the actress.

The move comes as a surprise of sorts, as Lively’s legal team had been trying to exclude the megastar from any legal proceedings. However, it seems as if Swift is comfortable enough to make herself a part of it in a small enough capacity.

Swift’s name in the lawsuit has been mentioned several times. Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit alleges that Lively used her friendship with Swift to essentially intimidate and threaten him, something Lively’s team denies.

In the lawsuit (via Variety), Baldoni’s legal team included text messages between himself and Lively while filming It Ends With Us. In the text chain, Baldoni discusses a rooftop scene between the pair, which had been reworked by Lively and Reynolds, as well as an alleged meeting that took place between Baldoni, Lively, Reynolds, and what seems to be Swift, where Lively and her husband, along with the pop star, praised Lively’s version of the scene.

According to Baldoni’s lawyers, the filmmaker “felt obliged to text Lively to say that he had liked her pages and hadn’t needed Reynolds and her megacelebrity friend to pressure him.”

“Also was working on rooftop scene today, I really love what you did. It really does [help] a lot,” Baldoni would go on to say in the text message. “Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor) You really are a talent across the board. Really excited [and] grateful to do this together.”

A text from Lively that is also included in the lawsuit sees the actress refer to Reynolds and a redacted name as “absolute titans as writers and storytellers outside their primary gig” and “they also know I’m not always as good at making sure I’m seen and utilized for fear of threatening egos, or fear of affecting the ease of the process. They don’t give a s— about that. And because of that, everyone listens to them with immense respect and enthusiasm. So I guess I have to stop worrying about people liking me.”
