Taylor Swift's Songs Removed From Social Media Posts By Donald Trump's Team

The fan-favourite Taylor Swift song August has disappeared from a recent controversial social media post from Donald Trump’s team.

Last week, the verified TikTok account @TeamTrump raised eyebrows when it shared footage of the US leader and First Lady Melania Trump watching a fireworks display from the White House balcony alongside the message: “Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.”

“I’m sure Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song!” they captioned the post.

However, while the Grammy-winning singer never commented publicly on Trump’s video, in the days that followed, the musical accompaniment was removed from the post.

Numerous outletsalso spotted that a previous post from the same account using her Life Of A Showgirl cut Father Figure had also had its audio disabled.

Per The Independent and Entertainment Weekly, TikTok app users in the US can now see a message on @TeamTrump’s August post that “the copyright owner hasn’t made this sound available in your country”.

Days after the original post, the account continued to mock Taylor – who previously endorsed Trump’s opponent Kamala Harris in the 2024 US election – by creating a mock version of her album Red with new track names relating to the president’s administration.

After the Shake It Off singer spoke out in support of Kamala Harris in 2024, Trump fired back on his own social media platform Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Trump had previously claimed that he was “not a Taylor Swift fan” and never had been, despite his proclamations years earlier that she was “unusually beautiful”,  “talented” and had “great star quality”.

More recently, he mocked the singer-songwriter after she was booed at the 2025 Super Bowl, suggesting that the jeers – which were likely from supporters of her now-husband Travis Kelce’s NFL opponents – were from his own supporters.
