The S.W.A.T. universe will only continue via its upcoming spinoff, as new information about SWAT Exiles proves that a ninth season of the original series won't happen. Sony Pictures Television ordered the offshoot shortly after CBS released the SWAT season 8 finale, wanting to keep the franchise alive. So, despite SWAT's end, its future is exciting and bright.
