Based on the popular short story by 19th-century author Washington Irving, the four-season Fox series Sleepy Hollow revealed what small-town New York would look like if Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) was pulled from his Revolutionary War locale and sent head-first into the 21st century. Along the way, Crane is pursued by the Headless Horseman, who aims to start the biblical apocalypse — and boy, is this one ride you're going to want to get on, at least for a few seasons.
