The late businessman Sunjay Kapur's Rs 30,000 crore inheritance has sparked a violent conflict between his children from his ex-wife Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, who allege their stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, left them out of their father's will. Karisma has now being pitted against by Priya's legal team. Samaira Kapur (20) and Kiaan Raj Kapur (15), Karisma's children, reportedly petitioned the Delhi High Court on Tuesday for a portion of their late father's fortune.

Samaira, Kiaan accuse Priya of changing Sunjay's will

They said in their appeal that their late father had "repeatedly assured" them of their portion, which was ultimately left out of his last will and testament. They claim that Priya Sachdev Kapur, Sunjay's third wife and their stepmother, changed the will.

The suit was brought after Priya presented a will supposedly executed on March 21 during a family gathering on July 30. She also seeks an injunction on the property's transfer or disposal. Karisma is not an opponent in this lawsuit, but she is representing her children.

Priya's lawyers hit back at Karisma

The Delhi High Court sent notice on a suit submitted by Karisma's two children on Wednesday, September 10. Priya's lawyers criticised Karisma throughout the hearing and questioned why she hadn't been there for the previous 15 years.

"Please have sympathy for a man who died while playing polo," said Rajiv Nayyar while appearing for Priya, he added, "Your husband and you left each other years ago You were nowhere to be seen for the last 15 years."

Karisma and Sunjay filed for divorce with mutual consent in 2014, but they withdrew it after things became tense. It was only finalised in 2016.

Court orders Priya to disclose Sunjay's assets

The court also ordered Priya to provide a list of all of Sunjay's assets, both immovable and movable. "Issue notice. Reply in two weeks, rejoinder in a week thereafter. Along with replies, Defendant 1 will file a list of all movable and immovable assets known to Defendant 1. Assets to be declared as of June 12," the Court ordered.

The Court also asked Priya why she was reluctant to give a copy of the will to Karisma's children.
