On Saturday, Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova took over Flushing Meadows to serve a thrilling showdown. As fans and celebrities flocked to Arthur Ashe to witness the women’s finals, they were not only cheering for their favorite stars, but many were also seen sipping the trendy US Open cocktail – the Honey Deuce. Hopping on the trend along with many others, Suni Lee also made sure that she was courtside with the pink elixir in hand.

Being one of the spectators at the US Open, the gymnast took to her Instagram stories, and shared a carousel of pictures. One of Lee’s stories was from the bar at the Flushing Meadows, where two drink glasses branded with US Open 2025 and Grey Goose were visible. Each drink is garnished with three green melon balls, shaped like mini tennis balls on a skewer, and has a small stirrer. There were two pale pink cocktails, two glasses of Honey Deuce. Lee captioned the story, “hadddd to get the honey deuce“.

Michelin-starred restaurateur Simon Kim’s COQODAQ was also at the  US Open, and Lee grabbed a bite. In her story, she posted a picture of a box from the restaurant, the gymnast had ordered what is known as the Golden Set: 24 Karat, which has six fried chicken nuggets, crème fraîche, chives, and a tin of Petrossian caviar.

In another story, the court was in the background while Suni Lee posted the fried nugget topped with a dollop of that crème fraîche, a small mound of black caviar, and a sprinkle of finely chopped green herbs. While all of this does look tasty, nothing is topping the taste Honey Deuce has left on the taste buds of the Tennis fans. Suni Lee was not the only celebrity who tried this drink.

Interestingly, the drink, which has a sweet and tart concoction of vodka, lemonade, and raspberry liqueur, sold over 550,000 glasses last year. The cups are even considered collectible, and many fans at the tournament can be seen walking around with a stack practically as tall as 6’10” tennis pro John Isner.

Introduced in 2006 by mixologist Nick Mautone in collaboration with Grey Goose, the drink was designed to be refreshing and easy to prepare for large crowds. Today, it is a cultural icon at the U.S. Open. Arguably the most profitable cocktail in sports, The Times named it the early winner of the annual, star-studded tennis tournament.

From Taylor Swift to Serena Williams: Honey Deuce impresses celebrities

Okay, so I’m at the US Open and I’m having the famous drink,” Serena Williams said in a TikTok she posted from Grigor Dimitrov’s Round of 16 last year.  She added, “Everyone’s like, ‘Have you ever had one?’ And I’m like, ‘No,’ because I’ve always been playing.” Well, now that she is not, she finally had the chance to try it.

The tennis legend said that she drinks her Honey Deuce with Cincoro Tequila rather than Grey Goose vodka. After her first sip, Williams’ reaction was priceless. “Honey, that’s not deuce,” she laughed. “That’s called Honey Ad-In or Honey Ace. Let’s rename it, ‘cause it’s good. She wanted to rename it.  During the 2024 U.S. Open, Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, were spotted enjoying Honey Deuce.

The official U.S. Open social media account shared a photo of Swift reaching for the drink, captioned, “Taylor Swift getting the full US Open experience!” After reaching the women’s doubles final, Townsend brought a frozen Honey Deuce to her post-match news conference, playfully offering it to the media.
