Even before he changed the face of mainstream movies for the third time in his career in the 1990s, Steven Spielberg could be relied upon to deliver massive box-office hits and attract A-list talent. A big-budget swashbuckler film that he directed in 1990 featured some of the biggest stars of the era and grossed more than $300 million worldwide, but Spielberg has never stopped voicing his disappointment with the final product. As recently as 2016, when he was promoting The BFG, Spielberg said that he hoped his new movie would be nothing like the 1990 film. The movie in question is now streaming on Peacock in the United States, but only for a little while longer.
