Star Wars: Scrapped The Acolyte Season 2 Storylines & Major Prequel Movies Connection Revealed

Star Wars: The Acolyte had some wild plans for Season 2 that will never see the light of day. The show was a rare mainline Star Wars entry that had the opportunity to explore the deep past of the Skywalker Saga.

The manner in which the show mishandled the canon delivered characters that were difficult to root for and did not resonate with fans. The series was canceled after one season following declining viewership.

While Season 1 failed to impress fans, creators behind the show were confident enough to map out what a sophomore outing of The Acolyte could look like. Now, Knight Edge Media has revealed what the next chapter of Osha and Mae’s story would have looked like.

Darth Plagueis’ master plan would have put Qimir and Osha at the center of a Sith conspiracy

The Acolyte ended with a few teases that would have paid off in the next season. Among them was the reveal of Darth Plagueis, the eventual master of Darth Sidious. According to Knight Edge Media, Plagueis would have manipulated Qimir and Osha as part of a larger conspiracy involving the Jedi.

Season 2 would have picked up a year after the events of Season 1. It would have also explored Qimir’s origin and his connection to Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh, who was his master at one point. The report also claims the season would have featured Star Wars’ first on-screen sexual encounter between two characters.

One set piece, the alleged cold open of the season, was supposed to see Osha face off against a Hutt gladiator, surrounded by several Hutt benefactors. Her mission would have been to eliminate a Hutt called Brigo. A version of this concept would find its way into The Mandalorian and Grogu, specifically the set piece involving Rotta the Hutt, played by Jeremy Allen White.

The set piece in the prequel film involved Din Djarin facing off with the son of Jabba the Hutt (who first appeared in The Clone Wars) in a gladiatorial area, with Din attempting to rescue the Hutt heir and return him to the Twins.
