Star Wars: Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber & Severed Hand Could Be Yours to Own

Avid Star Wars fans now have a rare chance to own Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber and severed hand. The iconic items are now up for auction for movie memorabilia collectors.

How much are the Star Wars lightsaber and severed hand selling for?

The Star Wars valuables include the famous lightsaber, which was used by Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) in the 1980s Star Wars sequel, The Empire Strikes Back, during the scene where Darth Vader says, “I am your father.” This lightsaber has never been up for auction before. Additionally, there’s also the severed hand from the film. Bidding for these two valuables opens at $1 million, reports ClickOrlando.

Heritage Auctions presents the Hollywood & Entertainment Signature Auction. There are other movie items as well for film lovers to bid for. For example, there are the hats from The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Not to mention the hoverboards from Back to the Future II, rugs from The Big Lebowski, and Rocky’s boxing boots. Sylvester Stallone wore them during Rocky III during the opening sequence of the 1982 movie. Bidding for the boots will begin at $100,000.

Fans of The Beatles will also get a chance to own something special. John Lennon’s handwritten lyrics for the song, If I Fell, written on the back of a Valentine card, are also up for auction. What makes this piece of memorabilia especially significant is that Lennon wrote the lyrics while in New York. He wrote it for the Beatles’ first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. Its bidding will start at $500,000.

“This auction represents the full spectrum of entertainment history, from Hollywood’s Golden Age to modern blockbuster cinema and the most influential moments in popular music,” said Heritage Auctions’ executive vice president Joe Maddalena in a statement.

The auction will take place from July 13 through July 17, 2026.
