ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for the upcoming U.S. debut of Reykjavik Fusion, the newest crime drama starring Severance’s Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. The 6-episode Icelandic TV show will finally debut in the U.S., starting on April 14 on MHz Choice with the first two episodes.
“The series follows Jónas, a talented chef working to rebuild his life after he was wrongly imprisoned. As society turns its back on the ex-convict, his last resort is to commit his first crime,” reads the official synopsis. “By accepting dirty money to set up a fine-dining restaurant, he’s forced to run a money-laundering operation to pay it back – not only putting his parole in jeopardy, but also his own life and the ones he loves.”

Who made Reykjavik Fusion?
Reykjavik Fusion was created by Hörður Rúnarsson and Birkir Blær Ingólfsson, who co-wrote the show with Jónas Margeir Ingólfsson. The show also stars Hera Hilmar (See), Lára Jóhanna Jónsdóttir (Sense8), Unnur Birna Jónsdóttir Backman (The Lava Field), Molly Mitchell, Iðunn Ösp Hlynsdóttir (Foundation), Guðjón Davíð Karlsson (Blackport), Þröstur Leó Gunnarsson (Solitude), Þorsteinn Gunnarsson (Entrapped), and Hafthor Unnarsson (Owls).
The thriller drama was directed by Gunnar Páll Ólafsson and Samúel Bjarki Pétursson. It was the first Icelandic series selected at CanneSeries, where it premiered in 2024. It is executive-produced by Birkir Blær Ingólfsson, Jónas Margeir Ingólfsson, Inga Lind Karlsdóttir, Niki Leskinen, Gunnar Páll Ólafsson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Samúel Bjarki Pétursson, Hörður Rúnarsson, Hlynur Sigurðsson, Roosa Toivonen, Ari Tolppanen, and Jocelyn Wexler.
