While attending the BAFTA TV Awards, Adam Scott said the team behind Severance is actively trying to speed things up for Season 3. The actor admitted the three-year delay between Seasons 1 and 2 was “too long” and said the new season should arrive “much sooner.” He also revealed filming is expected to begin very soon, though he avoided discussing any plot details to prevent spoilers.

Scott explained that the creators still want to focus on quality first. “We’re always trying to shorten the amount of time between seasons, but it’s more important for it to be great than for it to be fast,” he told Deadline during the interview.

The psychological thriller has become one of Apple TV+’s biggest originals. Created by Dan Erickson and executive produced by Ben Stiller and Adam Scott, the series follows employees at Lumon Industries who undergo a procedure that separates their work memories from their personal lives. Scott plays Mark Scout, an employee who slowly uncovers disturbing secrets tied to the company.

The cast also includes Britt Lower, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Tramell Tillman, and Dichen Lachlan. Season 2 reportedly became Apple TV+’s most-watched show at the time and earned 27 Emmy nominations in 2025, winning eight awards.

The series continues to earn strong audience reactions because of its unusual concept, mystery-driven storytelling, and performances. Severance currently holds a 95 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.6/10 rating on IMDb.
