Sergio Aguero has named his favourite to win the Champions League ahead of Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Holders PSG face Bayern Munich in the first Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night.

Arsenal take on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the second semi-final tie on Wednesday.

PSG, who clinched their first Champions League title last season, underwhelmed in the group stages this term and were forced to go through the play-offs after finishing 11th.

Luis Enrique’s side overcame a scare to beat Monaco before thumping Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool by an aggregate scoreline of 12-2 to march into the semi-finals.

PSG’s semi-final opponents Bayern Munich finished second in the group stage, with their only setback coming against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The Bundesliga champions battered Atalanta 10-2 in their first knockout game before beating European giants Real Madrid in a quarter-final thriller.

Arsenal’s route to the final-four has been less spectacular but just as effective, with the Gunners proving too strong for Bayer Leverkusen before securing a narrow win over Portuguese champions Sporting.

Arteta’s side have lost four of their last seven games in all competitions but at least returned to the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Newcastle United last time out.

Atletico Madrid also go into the Champions League semi-final is curious form, having stunned La Liga leaders Barcelona in the last round either side of seven defeats in nine games.

Diego Simeone’s side are only fourth in La Liga and were recently beaten on penalties by Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey final.

With the Champions League semi-finals about to get underway, former Manchester City striker Aguero has claimed holders PSG have the ‘best chance’ of lifting the trophy once again.

‘I think PSG are doing very well,’ Premier League legend Aguero told Stake. ‘It’s not easy to be back-to-back champions, but today both Bayern and Paris are very strong.

‘We’ll see what happens, but I think PSG have many chances. They play in the same way, they have very difficult players to stop, they are dangerous and today they look a bit more complete.

‘With Luis Enrique they know exactly what they want and how they want to play. I think today we all think Paris have the best chance.’

Arsenal are attempting to win the Champions League for the first time but Gary Neville has major doubts over their European credentials.

Looking ahead to their semi-final tie, Neville told Sky Sports: ‘That will be a big struggle, Atletico are a team that suffocate you really in terms of the way they play.

‘There won’t be any prioritisation between the competitions because you have to go for both. I think these Arsenal players know they have to win the Premier League and they’re probably not thinking that about the Champions League.

‘A lot of these players don’t know how to win a Champions League, but they’ve been so close in the title race and they’ll be so desperate not to fall short in that.

‘I do think that Mikel Arteta has to go for every single game and not prioritise any over the other, but he knows that the Premier League is the one that’s easier to win than the Champions League right now.

‘I think there are better teams in there than them in the Champions League and it’s a cup competition.

‘They’ve got three games left and they’ve only got four left in the league, so you could argue that it’s easy to win both.

‘But I don’t see them getting past Atletico Madrid and the other teams in the semi-final, but I do see them having a chance with the league.’
