Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, also took to X to mourn Saroja's demise. He wrote, "The news of the passing of senior Kannada actress B. Sarojadevi has caused deep sorrow. She gained fame as the goddess of acting, having performed in approximately 200 films across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema..."

All about Saroja Devi

The Kannada film Mahakavi Kalidasa marked the beginning of Saroja Devi's career in 1955. Her first Tamil film, Thirumanam, was released in 1956. Her first Telugu film, Panduranga Mahatyam, which also featured N. T. Rama Rao in the lead role, was released in 1957. M. G. Ramachandran (MGR) had collaborated with the seasoned actress on 26 films. The pair was a smash hit in the Tamil film industry. She made her Hindi debut in 1959, playing a supporting part in Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala's film Paigham.
