It’s lining up to be a big year for Ryan Gosling, who is the star in the biggest movie of the year so far, Project Hail Mary. The epic is based on Andy Weir’s critically acclaimed sci-fi novel. Weir is also famous for writing the sci-fi story that was adapted into Ridley Scott’s 2015 sci-fi movie, The Martian. Project Hail Mary began playing in theaters everywhere last weekend, and Gosling is already being discussed as a potential candidate for Best Lead Actor at the 2027 Oscars. It wouldn’t be the first time that Gosling was recognized by the Academy for his performance, though. He earned his first Oscar nod for his work in Half Nelson before also receiving recognition for his performances in La La Land and Barbie.
