Ruoning Yin secured her seventh career LPGA title on Sunday, delivering a composed final-round performance to win the Buick LPGA Shanghai by one stroke on home soil. Yin finished with a 72-hole total of 11-under-par 277 at Sheshan Golf Club, overcoming a late-round challenge from 54-hole leader Hye-Jin Choi.
The tournament turned on the closing holes of the back nine. Yin pulled ahead of Choi on the par-4 16th, sinking a critical four-foot birdie putt to claim a one-stroke advantage. She followed that with another birdie on the 17th hole, providing enough cushion to finish with a par on the 18th and claim the $480,000 winner’s check from the $3.2 million total purse.
Yin's critical four-foot birdie on the 16th hole proved to be the turning point of the final round.
Choi, who held the lead entering the final round, finished alone in second place at 10-under-par. Amy Yang finished solo third at 8-under-par, while Carlota Ciganda finished fifth despite receiving a two-stroke penalty for slow play during Saturday’s third round.
With the victory, Yin recorded her second win of the 2026 season. The triumph in Shanghai also moves her career title count to seven. While Yin entered the week as a favorite in her home country, the victory at Sheshan Golf Club required adjusting to a new venue, as the tournament moved from the site of her 2024 win.
