Robert desperate to end things in Emmerdale but Sadie is having none of it as scheme unravel

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) in Emmerdale is a simple man. If he sees the chance to have more money – he’s going to take it.

Following the return of Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), viewers discovered that she was in town to try and locate a large amount of cash that Jimmy King (Nick Miles) had hidden.

She’s enlisted help from Robert with the promise that he can get half once they find it.

The problem? They cannot actually find it.

Jimmy was hardly the sharpest tool in the box, but he seems to have successfully hidden this money in the Emmerdale equivalent of Fort Knox.

Next week, Sadie and Robert wonder if Jimmy’s money is stashed somewhere at the depot.

By this point, the duo have been searching high and low for ages, and Robert begins to wonder if they should just cut their losses.

Sadie insists they must keep looking for the money, convinced it will be worth it – but will their plan end the way they want?

Or will someone work out what Robert and Sadie are up to?

‘She’s a desperate woman’, Patsy said of her iconic Emmerdale alter-ego.

‘She’s come back for a big reason, and she won’t stop at anything. It’s interesting to see how far she’ll go. And we know Sadie. If she’s got her mind set on something, she’s going to try her hardest.’

Discussing how Sadie’s return came about, Patsy added: ‘It came out of absolutely nowhere, which is sometimes the nicest way things can happen. I was interested in coming back. I said, “I don’t want to kill the character off though, because I’d love to think she may return again.” The team of writers are phenomenal and it’s fantastic. People will be shocked, and that’s great.’
